Dear EBHO Community,
It is with great sadness that I share with you all that February 20th will be our Suburban Organizer Davina Srioudom’s last day with EBHO.
It was an exciting time when Davina joined us in 2024. She was stepping into a newly created two-year role and tasked with organizing the single-family home-dominated suburbs to join us in our fight for affordable housing. Since joining EBHO, Davina has approached this task with determination and endless positivity.
Wherever Davina goes, she brings the good times with her. Davina is not selfish with her joy; she shares it with everyone around. I believe this is why she has been so successful in organizing residents in the suburbs. Davina is also dependable and trustworthy. I am so lucky to have worked with someone whom I know I can trust to get the job done. Becoming Davina’s supervisor also allowed me to develop my skills, so I am so grateful to her for being the easiest person to supervise.
It is unfortunate that our time working together is coming to an end. It seems like we had worked together for so long, yet we were just getting started. I can only imagine what we’d be able to accomplish together with this new group of Resident Leaders Davina has been organizing and mobilizing these past few years.

EBHO’s mission is to mobilize the power and wisdom of our members to produce, preserve, and protect affordable housing opportunities for low-income communities in the East Bay. Davina has done exactly this with the residents and advocates of Contra Costa County, and her presence will be sorely missed. I am beyond encouraged to know that she will be a force of joy and passion in her next role.
It has been an honor to call you a coworker and friend, Davina, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Please join me in wishing Davina luck in this next chapter of her life!
In solidarity,
— Damion Scott, Lead Organizer
Hear from the Community!
You can read more about Davina’s work an impact in this blog post that she wrote up in September.
“Davina played an important role in RCOP. Her excellence and professionalism has been an asset to EBHO.”
– Cathy Eberhardt, EBHO Board Member and Resident Leader

“Davina is a wonderful, caring person–it’s such a blessing to have your youth and to help others. It’s been great, great, great getting to know her. I will miss her, but I wish her success in all of her endeavors!
– Ms. Cecilia Cunningham, EBHO Community Leader and RCOP Member
“Davina is serious about her commitment to housing justice, to empowering community members, and to having a good time while doing it! Contra Costa is losing a powerhouse organizer, but the joy Davina brings to this work will live with the community for a long time to come!”
– Joey Flegel-Mishlove, EBHO Senior Policy Associate

“When Davina joined EBHO in 2024, I had the pleasure of seeing her speak at a City Council meeting and witnessing her interactions with our partner organizations. I knew her work would be impactful. Davina’s care of the community, and her compassion and understanding of the issues facing vulnerable families, elevated our advocacy work in Contra Costa County. At a time when we needed it the most. I have since grown to know her, not only as a thoughtful and fearless ally of Housing Justice, but as a friend. Davina is serious and sincere about her work. But I will miss her fun side as well. Her joking with me (calling me Mr. President..Lol). Even though Davina was with us for two years, it feels like I have known her for 10. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. I know she is going to do big things in the world. It was evident in her work here at EBHO.”
– William Goodwin, EBHO Board President

“I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to work with Davina. In the past two years I’ve learned a lot from her and she’s been a huge influence on me. Although I’ll miss her so much, I just want to wish her all the happiness and success in her next chapter.”
– Irma Bodden, Resident Leader
“Davina was actually the one who told me about the opportunity to work at EBHO and encouraged me to apply. It was a catalyst that changed my path in the best way. From working together in the mailroom as undergrads to advocating for the three P’s in the affordable housing space, it has been an honor to watch her grow. She is truly one of a kind and I can’t wait to see where she goes next. Wherever it is, she’s going to be amazing!”
– Lavender Briscoe, EBHO Membership Associate

“Davina was my first hire as Executive Director–and did she ever set the bar high for all future candidates applying to join EBHO! From our first conversations, Davina’s enthusiasm, maturity, and intellectual curiosity were both clear and abundant. She made the absolute most of her two years with EBHO as our inaugural Suburban Organizer. I know that EBHO staff, members, and partners, will miss her passion, warmth, and dedication to advocating for housing justice in suburban communities. Davina is forever a part of the EBHO family, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.”
– Lindsay Haddix, EBHO Executive Director
