Senior / Membership and Community Engagement Associate

Full-Time, Exempt – $70,000 – $75,000 DOE
Hybrid Remote/In-Person, Based in Oakland, California

EBHO is seeking someone who cares about making a difference for people experiencing the region’s affordable housing and displacement crises, working at the intersection of policy and organizing. The Membership and Community Engagement Associate/Senior Membership and Community Engagement Associate will develop and execute strategies for membership engagement, retention, and growth. They will also help craft messaging and outreach materials (eBlasts, social media, blog posts, etc.) for our targeted membership and general audiences.

This position is appropriate for someone with a background in customer service, membership engagement, relationship-building, fundraising, and/or data management, but we are open to a range of experience levels and encourage a diverse applicant pool.  

EBHO is currently operating on a reduced schedule equivalent to 80% full time equivalent (FTE) with most staff working 32 hours over four days a week (Mon-Thurs). This schedule is subject to the availability of funds as we continue navigating the current fundraising landscape. Compensation for this position is guaranteed at 80% ($56,000 – $60,000) with the goal of returning to 100% in the near future.

Volunteer Opportunities

At times, EBHO welcomes volunteers, interns, and student projects to participate in our advocacy and organizing work.

We seek one-time volunteers for our Affordable Housing Week events in May, our fall Faith & Justice Breakfast at the end of summer, and our Membership Meeting in November.
