Three BIG Campaign Endorsements

At EBHO, we don’t only think about Election Day when it’s getting close to the first Tuesday in November – we have ballot measures on the brain all year long, and we know many of you do too!

That’s why we are so excited to announce a few endorsements and invite YOU to get involved early and often in what we think will be some of the most consequential issues in this year’s general election. From signature gathering for a citizen’s initiative, to formally endorsing, from spreading awareness to calling your state representatives, there are many ways you can support these critical measures from now until November 3rd.

Endorsement #1 Connect Bay Area TransitA Regional Transportation Ballot Measure to reimagine and reinvest in a system that serves today’s riders and inspires the next generation.

Endorsement #2 Roadmap Home 2030A bold, long-term plan to create the future we want for California by building affordable homes, protecting low-income renters, ending homelessness, and advancing racial equity and economic inclusion.

Endorsement #3 Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2026: A $10 billion bond that would go before voters on the November 2026 ballot.

Read below for more information about how to show your support for these critical housing and public transit measures TODAY!

I hope to see you at the The Roadmap Home: Bay Area Regional Launch in Oakland on February 25th. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, and today is the last day to RSVP. Don’t delay!

Connect Bay Area Transit

Connect Bay Area is advocating for a Regional Transportation Ballot Measure to reimagine and reinvest in a system that serves today’s riders and inspires the next generation. The Ballot Measure would bring a five-county sales tax to the ballot to support public transit in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties.

This funding measure is designed to prevent catastrophic transit service cuts and provide reliable operating funding for major transit systems and local bus operators throughout the region. The measure also funds transit improvements, capital projects within counties, and targeted road improvements.

Without a sustainable funding solution, Bay Area transit agencies face devastating service reductions, including:

  • BART: Elimination of two full lines, no service after 9 PM on weekdays, and no
    weekend service;
  • SF Muni: Elimination of entire routes, 50% cuts to major bus and metro lines, and severe reductions to historic streetcar and cable car service;
  • Caltrain: Hourly weekday service, no service after 9 p.m., and no weekend service;
  • AC Transit: Up to 37% overall service cuts.

What YOU can do now: endorse the measure; gather signaturessign up for updates.

EBHO members can reach out to Jeff Levin (jeff@ebho.org) to join this week’s Regional Policy Committee on Thursday, February 19 form 10 AM – 12 PM for a presentation on the Connect Bay Area Regional Transportation Measure.

Roadmap Home 2030

The Roadmap Home 2030 is a bold, long-term plan to create the future we want for California by building affordable homes, protecting low-income renters, ending homelessness, and advancing racial equity and economic inclusion.

Developed with partners across diverse sectors, the Roadmap Home 2030 is a
comprehensive, multi-year policy platform that provides near- and long-term policy
solutions. If enacted, these solutions can realize California’s promise and create a
future where every Californian has the essential foundation necessary for health,
opportunity, and wellbeing: a safe, affordable place to call home.

Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2026

The best way to make housing more affordable is to build more affordable homes. But with housing funding running out, there is real danger affordable production could come to a halt.

The Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2026 is the next step California needs. It places a $10 billion bond on this year’s ballot — allowing voters to support the production and preservation of affordable housing for lower-income households.

Two housing bonds — both with the same name and the same goal — are moving through the Legislature this year. Their passage is critical to help every community build more of the safe, affordable homes Californians need.

What YOU can do now: sign on to support the Bond as an individual or organization.
