The City of Antioch, Hope Solutions, and Multi-faith ACTION Coalition have spent the last two years implementing a Partnership for the Bay’s Future Policy Gran to spur affordable housing production on faith-owned land. Join us as we celebrate our achievements and learn where we started, what we accomplished, and where we are headed. Attendees will learn how cross-sector collaboration and the voices of people with lived experience of housing insecurity drove affordable housing policy change in Antioch. Through the creation of two different community organizing networks, our team’s final objective is to leave behind a legacy of community-government collaboration.
Attendees with ties to Antioch will learn how to become involved in these networks and help us co-create our final steps. Attendees from other communities will leave with three ideas that can be replicated in their jurisdiction: 1) a Faith Leader Advisory that provides the moral imperative to drive policy change, 2) a Community Voices Advisory that equips government staff with diverse perspectives, and 3) a Resident Empowerment Program that elevates the voices of people with lived experience.
