Exciting news! Our Oakland United Coalition is kicking off our campaign for community benefits at the development of the Oakland Coliseum.
We will soon begin negotiating with the prospective developer of Coliseum Lot, the African American Sports Entertainment Group (AASEG) to secure a strong Community Benefits Agreement (CBA). Our Coalition’s priorities in negotiating a CBA will be to ensure this project benefits Oaklanders, especially the East Oakland community and Black and Brown residents who have been hurt the most by Oakland’s gentrification.
You can support the campaign by attending our campaign kickoff next Saturday, July 22nd and by signing our petition in support of deeply affordable housing, good jobs, and a healthy environment. It’s critical that the Oakland City Council and the AASEG hear from YOU about what you want to see in the project!
