The Eden Area is located right in the center of urban Alameda County and has a population greater than the City of Berkeley. Despite this, the area is unincorporated, meaning that it has no mayor or city council, and it is largely overlooked in regional conversations about housing justice.
This week, My Eden Voice and East Bay Housing Organizations will release “In the Shadows of Eden: Rising Rents, Evictions, and Substandard Living Conditions in Unincorporated Alameda County”, the very first report surveying rental needs in unincorporated Alameda County. Our findings show that this unincorporated community has been underserved, and lags behind its neighboring cities in implementing tenant protections.
This webinar will be valuable for all housing advocates in Alameda County.
Can’t make the webinar but want to read the report? Go ahead and RSVP, and we’ll send you a copy of the report and a recording of the webinar after the fact.
