Kate Young

Membership and Communications Associate

Kate Young is the Membership and Communications Associate at East Bay Housing Organizations. 

Kate is a fifth-generation Chinese-American organizer and storyteller from the Bay Area. She is passionate about community health and development, especially relating to racial, education, and climate justice. Prior to joining EBHO, Kate spent three years with a global STEM education nonprofit, working on fundraising, marketing, and grassroots community-building initiatives to empower girls and young women around the world. 

Kate graduated from UC San Diego with a B.S. in Public Health and a minor in Political Science. During her studies, she worked to mobilize student volunteers on a successful Congressional campaign, and helped pass federal LGBTQ+ legislation with the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC. Kate has contributed to published research on international climate movements and girls’ education, and hosted STEM workshops at the the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).
