Together with others serving the Contra Costa community, we mourn the loss of Supervisor Federal D. Glover, the first African American elected to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. We celebrate the legacy he leaves and his many accomplishments in his nearly three decades of public service.
We will remember the Supervisor as an advocate for equity and social justice, especially affordable housing opportunities for those most in need in the County. Supervisor Glover was also a strong supporter of low-income families affected by the COVID pandemic, including the County’s eviction moratorium and tenant legal services.
We extend our deepest condolences to Supervisor Glover’s family and friends, as well as all who had the privilege to work with him closely in his years in public service.
