Know Your Rights: COVID-19 Eviction Protections in 2023

Here to Help

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, East Bay Housing Organizations pushed hard for increased renter protections to make sure that no one would be evicted due to inability to pay rent.

Three years later, landlord groups are mounting challenges to these moratoria, and protections are beginning to be rolled back.

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over and that renters’ financial hardships have not ended. We are fighting hard to uphold and expand rental protections at both the local and state level.

In the meantime, we have updated our COVID-19 policy page with what you need to know about changing regulations.

East Bay Housing Organizations is not a legal organization. Please use our website as a general overview of existing protections, and seek legal advice for information about your individual circumstances.
