Location: The Starling, 170 Coronado Ave, Alameda, CA
Hosted by Eden Housing
Twenty-five years after the Navy suspended operations in Alameda, the former Naval Air Station base becomes home to over 800 individuals, families, and senior citizens in a mixed-income housing development.
The Starling (formerly known as Alameda Point Family) and Corsair Flats are two affordable housing buildings managed by Eden Housing. Amenities include a community room with a kitchen, a computer room, community gardens, bike storage, and a spacious courtyard with seating. Innovative new green design elements were used in construction to optimize energy and resource efficiency and make use of recycled materials.
The complex as a whole is home to playgrounds for children, supportive services for formerly homeless residents including veterans, new parks, and a new ferry terminal.
Join Eden Housing and EBHO for the official ribbon cutting to celebrate this hard fought project!
