EBHO’s Concord Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 2 PM over Zoom. The Committee mostly focuses on the development of the Concord Naval Weapons Station (CNWS), a decommissioned Naval munitions storage base, half of which is being given to the City of Concord for development. This area will eventually be developed with 12,000 units of housing, 3,000 of which will be affordable. EBHO and our members have been engaged with the development of CNWS for almost two decades. Due to the overlap of our interests in this project, our Concord Committee meets jointly with the Homeless Collaborative, a group of developers responsible for constructing units for homeless veterans on the base.
The Concord Committee also discusses other Housing issues in Concord including the City’s Housing Element, efforts to pass tenant protections, and affordable housing funding. For more information contact Aaron Tiedemann, the Committee lead, at aaron@ebho.org.
