The Oakland Chinatown Community Candidates Forum is coming up on Wednesday, September 21 from 5 – 8 PM at Lincoln Square Park. Registration is at 4:30pm and the program will begin at 5pm. The forum will feature mayoral and District 2 city council candidates and allow residents and community members of the Oakland Chinatown neighborhood to meet the candidates and ask questions on issues facing Chinatown and District 2.
Live simultaneous interpretation will be provided in Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Korean. The event is in person and outdoors (masks highly encouraged) and will be recorded as well. We’ll also have volunteers to walk folks home (within Chinatown) or to their bus stops to make sure folks are safe getting home, as well as limited, free Uber carpool rides.
