2021 Affordable Housing Month Art Show
May 26, 2021 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
CALLING ARTISTS TO SHOW YOUR WORK
Are you an artist that lives in affordable housing? Share your work with the world:
Are you the person who designs the cakes for all your family events? Do you draw and sketch to pass the time? Have you been spray-painting murals/tagging in neglected public spaces over the years? Do you sew blankets for new babies or make nail art? We welcome formal painters with canvases in the corner of your room, and also want to celebrate the powerful art so many of us make in the day-to-day of life.
Kids/Young Creators: Have you been drawing a lot over the last year as we spent more time at home? Do you have a Lego creation that tells a story and wows your friends? Have you helped paint a mural in the community during the year of political protest? Do you design digital memes and videos that tell a powerful story or make the room laugh?
Join us and show your work with the broader community at our Affordable Housing Month Resident Art Show! Email Damion Scott, firstname.lastname@example.org, before May 21st to sign up and have your art featured. Let us know what kind of art you make, and if you’ll be sharing a picture or holding it up for us all to see at the time!
Not a resident-artist? Join this online event to celebrate these artists and hear about their work:
Behold, the works of art! Join visual artists living in affordable housing communities as they feature their visual creations. Witness the power and creativity of visual artworks created by residents of Affordable Housing in the East Bay and Silicon Valley.
This event is co-hosted with SV@Home.
