Thoey Bou (she/her) is the Senior Membership & Community Engagement Associate at East Bay Housing Organizations.
Thoey is passionate about climate and environmental justice, fighting for people and the planet over profit. Before joining EBHO, she worked across the environmental, corporate, and biotech sectors, alongside running a small creative business. She earned a B.S. in Biology from UC Santa Cruz as a first-generation college student.
Thoey’s family were part of the Vietnamese Boat People who fled by sea and sought refuge after the fall of Saigon. The family resettled in California’s Central Valley after reuniting with an aunt who worked as a farm laborer. Thoey was born and raised in Fresno.
Now rooted in deep East Oakland, Thoey loves exploring the regional parks. She also enjoys coffee, junk journaling, glamping, and naps.
