EBHO is excited to invite members to apply to join our Board of Directors in 2026. The deadline to apply is Friday, September 5th, 2025 at 5:00 PM PT.

About EBHO’s Board
A nonprofit Board of Directors is the governing body of an organization, and EBHO’s Board helps to determine our priorities and high-level strategy while holding the organization accountable to our goals.
For more information, read the Board expectations and commitments and watch the recording from our July 2024 Lunch & Learn where EBHO Board members shared their reasons for becoming members, why they wanted to join our Board, and some of the things they’ve worked on since becoming board members. We also talked about the role and importance of boards in nonprofit governance and how YOU can apply to become an EBHO Board member.
We will be holding a mandatory virtual orientation and Q&A session via Zoom on Tuesday, August 26th from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. Please email us at staff@ebho.org to RSVP to this info session or if you’re unable to make it but are interested in applying.
Who Should Apply?
We invite all active, dues-paying EBHO members to apply for the Board. (Please note: we do not accept applications from our current funding partners or sitting elected officials to avoid conflicts of interest.)
For 2026, we are particularly interested in applicants with any of the following:
- Works/Lives in Contra Costa County
- Attorney/Legal Experience (tenant rights/lands use/disability rights)
- Homelessness Services/Advocacy/Policy
- Latine heritage
Email us at staff@ebho.org if you have any questions about the application process.
